Levanta’s robust manual service pit covers are fast and easy to deploy. They keep safe not only your staff, but also other workshop visitors. By deploying a manual pit cover you can ensure that any unprotected areas between vehicles on long pits are made safe.

The system consists of a series of aluminium slats running on ball bearings located in dedicated tracks along the length of the service pit. This ensures the covers are flush with the workshop floor, eliminating trip hazards when deployed.

The cover retracts into a compact storage cassette, allowing the aluminium covers to be quickly housed behind the access staircase. For longer service pits there is the option to have a cassette at each end so the pit covers meet in the middle.

Manual pit cover features:

• Easily retracted or deployed by with 1 person without entering or leaning over the pit
• Suitable for pits up to 20.5m in length. This can be doubled by deploying covers from both ends of the pit
• Deployed load capacity 1500 kg / m2
• Storage cassette has minimal footprint in the pit, maximising your working space
• Extruded aluminium construction, powder coated in yellow and black for visibility
• Proven for 10 years in the heavy vehicle industry

Automatic service pit covers

Retractable auto pit covers give you a quick and simple way to ensure safety for your workshop technicians around service pits. With the ability to open to any position, they provide either full or part exposure to the vehicle being serviced.  An optional “bridging function” allows sections of the pit cover to be separated and located between vehicles as required.

Their robust construction handles loads of up to 1500kg/m2, allowing your technicians to stand on the covers while servicing the front or rear of the vehicle.

Automatic pit cover features:

• Electrically or pneumatic driven motor for automatic deployment and retraction
• Remote control and/or single station control
• Visual and audible alarms during deployment and retraction
• Anti-pinch function
• Manual override in event of power failure
• Dedicated storage cassette behind pit access stairs
• Operation can by integrated with pit ventilation system to ensure pit air is clean before opening
• Available for pits up to 24m in length. This can be doubled by deploying covers from both ends of the pit
• Extruded aluminium construction, powder coated in yellow and black for visibility
• 1500kg/m2 load capacity, can be walked on. Optional ‘drive over’ version available
